In a heartwarming display of spousal support, Pastor Moses Tinsley has publicly backed his wife, singer Vivian Tendo, in her decision to enter the political arena ahead of the 2026 general elections. Last week, the 26-year-old musician announced her intention to run for the Mityana Woman Member of Parliament seat, using her social media platform to make the news public.
Tinsley wasted no time in showing his support, taking to his Facebook page to express excitement over his wife’s political ambitions. He called on voters to prepare for a young and intelligent candidate in the next parliament.
“We are going to send beautiful, young, yet intelligent women to parliament. If you’re upset about it, go ahead and vote for Mao. Mityana, we are coming, God willing,” he wrote, in a post translated from Luganda.
Vivian Tendo’s announcement caught many by surprise, given her drama-free career and soft-spoken nature. Fans responded with mixed reactions; some encouraged her, pointing out her integrity and strong character as key traits that would serve her well in politics. Others, however, advised her to stay focused on her music, fearing that her political involvement might damage her reputation.
Vivian Tendo isn’t the first Ugandan musician to pursue a political career. She follows in the footsteps of fellow artist Nina Roz, who recently declared her intention to run for the Sembabule District Woman MP seat, officially endorsed by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine.
