Jowy Landa has pushed back against Suzan Makula Bugingo’s advice on relationships, arguing that a man should not be judged simply because he rents his home.
The singer took issue with remarks attributed to Makula, the wife of Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, who recently advised girls against dating men who are still renting. Jowy said she viewed the advice as unhelpful and potentially misleading to women making relationship decisions.
“Bad Black invited her buddies and I’m not one of them. I saw Suzan Makula giving advice, but it wasn’t worthy it. She was only misguiding the girl child. But why would she say something like that?” Jowy said.
She also challenged the idea that owning property should be treated as a basic requirement for men seeking relationships. According to Jowy, many men are still financially struggling or building their lives, meaning the absence of a home does not automatically define their circumstances.

“First of all, a broke man is also a man. Seventy percent of most of the boys of this generation are broke,” she said. “So if you’re giving advice to the girl child, you don’t do that. That woman just doesn’t understand. I didn’t like her advice at all.”
Jowy’s own approach to relationships appears to place greater emphasis on financial stability than property ownership. She said she would have no problem dating a man who rents, pointing out that some wealthy people may also choose to rent.
“I can date a man who rents and I don’t care about that because there are rich men who are still renting,” she said.
For Jowy, the bigger consideration is whether a man is financially stable and capable of building toward the future. She also revealed that she plans to start building her own apartments and joked that she could eventually gift her partner an apartment.
“I can gift my man an apartment too,” she added.
The singer also made it clear that she is not particularly concerned about criticism surrounding her views, saying she remains focused on personal growth and making money.
“I don’t fear anyone except God. Even when I get insulted, I continue to germinate, grow, and continue making my money, and I don’t give a damn,” Jowy said.
Her comments add another perspective to the conversation sparked by Makula’s remarks, shifting the focus from whether a man owns a home to what he brings to a relationship while building his financial future.
