Ugandan singer Ykee Benda, real name Wycliff Tugume, has welcomed a baby boy with his wife, Emily Nyawira, and shared the first details about their new arrival.
The Mpaka Records boss announced the birth on Saturday night, revealing that the couple have named their son Ukwezi Hallelujah Benda.
Ykee Benda shared the news on X alongside the baby’s birth date, writing:
“Well isn’t God faithful. 26/09/26. Ukwezi Hallelujah Benda has joined the struggle. Mukama Wamanyi.”
The announcement marks a new chapter for Ykee Benda and Emily, who have been building their family after formalising their relationship through traditional ceremonies.
The couple held their kukyala in July 2025 before following it with their kwanjula, or introduction ceremony, in September that year.
Their pregnancy became public in August 2026 when the couple stepped out together and Emily was seen showing off her advanced baby bump.
Ukwezi is Ykee Benda’s second child. The singer also has a son, Dante, from his previous relationship with Julie Batenga.
For Ykee Benda, the latest arrival adds another major milestone to a year that has already seen his relationship with Emily take another significant step.
And judging by his announcement, the singer is clearly embracing fatherhood once again—with a very memorable name for his newest little one.
