Congolese music icon Koffi Olomide is set to bring his celebrated rumba sound to Gulu City, with Bell Lager coming on board as the lead premium sponsor of the highly anticipated concert.
The concert is scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026, at the Northern Pearl Hotel Garden along Gulu-Kitgum Road and is being organized by Open Mic Uganda.
Bell Lager’s involvement comes under Obafest, the brand’s beer festival platform built around music, beer and food.
The Gulu edition extends the Obafest experience to Northern Uganda, with attendees expected to enjoy live performances and social entertainment throughout the night.
Olomide, one of the most influential figures in Congolese rumba and soukous, is expected to perform songs from his extensive catalogue, including Loi, Effrakata, Papa Bonheur, Tcha Tcho and Selfie.
The concert falls during Uganda’s Independence Day holiday weekend, giving music fans in Gulu, neighbouring districts and visitors to Northern Uganda an opportunity to attend an international performance closer to home.
Gates open at 2:00 PM, with the programme scheduled to continue until 4:00 AM on Saturday, October 10.
Olomide will be joined by a lineup of Ugandan performers, including dancehall singer Cindy, as well as Eezzy, Batman, Jelly G and Lucky David.
Comedian Patrick Salvado will serve as the host for the event.

The sponsorship also marks Bell Lager’s effort to take its Obafest platform beyond Kampala and into other parts of Uganda.
