Nigerian gospel singer and worship minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has died, his family has announced.
The family confirmed his passing in a statement shared on his social media account on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, saying he died in the early hours of the morning.
“With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of Minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM), who passed away in the early hours of 14 October 2026,” the statement read.
Describing him as a dearly loved husband and family member, the family asked the public to keep his wife and loved ones in their prayers. Funeral arrangements, it added, will be communicated in due course.
Toluwanisings built a following in Nigeria’s gospel music scene through energetic praise sessions, worship recordings and live ministrations. His musical style combined Yoruba praise traditions with contemporary gospel sounds, connecting with listeners through church gatherings and digital music platforms.
One of his notable projects was Kos’Oluwa Laye, which helped introduce his music to a wider audience. His catalogue also included songs and projects such as Owo Re Meji Meji, Unreserved Praise VOL 4, Kabiyesi Olorun Ayo and The Name of Jesus.
Beyond recording music, Toluwanisings was committed to gospel ministry through live performances and worship gatherings. In an interview, he described gospel music as a way of reaching people through songs, live ministrations and album releases.
His approach reflected a wider tradition within gospel music, where artists regard their work not simply as entertainment but as a form of ministry intended to encourage faith and connect with congregations.
Following the announcement of his death, fans, colleagues and members of the gospel music community shared messages of grief and condolences on social media, remembering his music and contribution to worship.
His passing leaves behind a catalogue of gospel recordings that reached listeners seeking encouragement, praise and spiritual connection through music.
As his family prepares to announce funeral arrangements, attention remains on remembering the singer’s life and ministry and supporting those closest to him during their loss.
May his soul rest in peace.
