Crysto Panda is pushing back against criticism of his latest music video, insisting that the visuals for Wansigalamu were deliberately shot on a mobile phone rather than made cheaply because of budget limitations.
The Ugandan singer and media personality recently teamed up with Pawaboy AB and Lutty Neika on the song, which has reportedly been gaining traction on music charts. While the audio has received a positive reception, the visuals have drawn criticism from some music commentators who questioned whether the video matched the song’s quality.
Speaking during an interview with Galaxy TV, Crysto Panda explained that the production approach was intentional. The video, shot by renowned videographer Aronnaire, was designed to portray a young man dealing with heartbreak while struggling financially.
According to the singer, the team wanted the visuals to reflect the circumstances of someone who loves deeply but does not have the money or lifestyle often associated with elaborate music videos.
“Most of the guys who cry for their exes are still struggling and figuring life out but not those high class men. We wanted to bring out the image of those who were not doing well financially but love their women,” he explained.

Crysto Panda’s response challenges the assumption that a video with relatively simple visuals necessarily reflects a lack of resources. He said the production team could have opted for a more expensive shoot but chose to prioritise the message behind the song.
“We had the capacity to shoot an expensive video. We were not on a budget because even all our previous videos are not cheap. It was just a concept that has also been done by big artists like Diamond Platnumz,” he said.
His explanation places the debate around Wansigalamu on the difference between production cost and creative direction. While some critics have questioned the video’s visual presentation, Panda maintains that the mobile-phone approach served the story the team wanted to tell.
The decision also highlights how music videos can use deliberately modest settings and production techniques to communicate a song’s themes. In this case, the intended character is not a wealthy man surrounded by luxury but someone navigating romantic disappointment while trying to make ends meet.
Whether the concept works for every viewer is a matter of taste, but Crysto Panda has made his position clear: the visuals were a creative decision, not evidence that the team lacked the means to produce something more elaborate.
With Pawaboy AB and Lutty Neika joining him on the track, the singer appears focused on ensuring that audiences understand the thinking behind the release rather than judging it solely by its production style.
