Ugandan comedian Patrick Salvado has revealed that cutting back on alcohol, particularly whiskey and wine, is part of his effort to lose weight, although his weighing scale continues to show 103 kilograms.
Salvado said he has removed the two drinks from his routine as he explores ways to change his appearance. The comedian’s comments come after people began telling him that he looks noticeably slimmer.
“Whiskey and wine are now out of the picture,” he said.

Salvado also revealed that social media has become one of his sources of weight-loss tips, with platform algorithms repeatedly recommending content about different approaches to managing weight.
He said he had come across pages discussing how people could consume certain types of alcohol while trying to lose weight, adding that some of the advice he encountered had worked for him.
The comedian has also been experimenting with weight-loss remedies recommended through his social media feeds, although he did not specify which methods he had tried or provide details about their effectiveness.
Despite the comments he receives about his changing appearance, Salvado said the numbers on his weighing scale have not reflected the difference others claim to see.
“People keep telling me I’ve lost weight but when I weigh myself I’m still 103kgs. I don’t know why,” he said.
He suggested that the apparent discrepancy could be related to changes in how his body distributes weight. However, he did not provide measurements or other information to establish what might account for the difference between his appearance and his recorded weight.
Salvado’s experience highlights the distinction between perceived changes in appearance and changes measured on a scale. Weight alone does not explain every change in body composition, and social media weight-loss advice may not be appropriate for everyone.
For now, the comedian says he has noticed a change in how people perceive his appearance, even as the scale remains unchanged at 103kg.
One important distinction: Cutting whiskey and wine is a personal change Salvado has reported, but the available information does not establish how much it has contributed to his appearance or overall weight.
