Ugandan rapper Recho Rey has named Ray G’s concert at Kololo Airstrip as the biggest music event of 2026 so far, praising the massive turnout that gathered to support the singer during his August show.
Assessing the year’s musical highlights, Recho Rey said Ray G stood out because of the number of people who attended the concert, making it her leading choice among Uganda’s major live music events.
“The biggest concert of this year so far is Ray G’s concert, in my opinion. So many people turned up to support him. It was visible,” she said.
With the year still underway, the rapper believes Ray G deserves recognition for the achievement, while acknowledging that other musicians have also delivered memorable performances.

Among them is Vinka, whom Recho Rey praised for taking the step of staging her first-ever concert. She described the show as another successful moment in Uganda’s entertainment calendar.
Vinka’s maiden concert marked an important milestone in her live performance career, placing her among the artists Recho Rey believes have made significant strides this year.
Beyond concerts, Recho Rey also highlighted several artists whose musical output has impressed her in 2026. She singled out Fik Fameica, Pretty Banks and Mimi Kampala as musicians who have stood out from the crowd.
Her selections reflect two different measures of success in the industry: the ability to attract large audiences to live shows and the quality of music artists have delivered throughout the year.
Ray G earned her praise for the crowd that turned up at Kololo Airstrip, while Vinka received recognition for taking on the challenge of hosting her debut concert. Fik Fameica, Pretty Banks and Mimi Kampala, meanwhile, earned mentions for their musical efforts.
Recho Rey also hinted at ambitions of her own, saying she is gearing up for something similar next year. However, the available remarks do not specify what project or event she plans to pursue.
Her assessment offers a snapshot of the artists and performances she believes have made 2026 memorable for Uganda’s music scene. With more of the year still to come, the final rankings could change, but Ray G’s Kololo Airstrip concert has already earned a place at the top of Recho Rey’s list.
