Chinese automobile manufacturer Jetour Group has officially entered the Ugandan market, marking a major milestone in the country’s automotive and industrial landscape.
The launch was announced by Al Mamoun East Africa, which has a strong presence in Sudan, South Sudan, the UAE, and other markets. The company has been appointed exclusive distributor of Jetour vehicles in Uganda, with a showroom and aftersales service center in Namanve, Kampala.
New Models Unveiled: Dashing and X70 Plus
At the high-profile event held at Serena Hotel Kampala, Jetour unveiled two of its flagship models, the Dashing and X70 Plus, with plans to introduce the T2 by the end of the year.
Speaking at the event, Moses Kaggwa, Acting Director at the Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development, praised Jetour’s entry as a timely boost to Uganda’s industrial and economic agenda.
“I thank you for investing in our economy and creating employment for many Ugandans. We pledge to support you,” Kaggwa stated.
Jetour: A Global Automotive Force
Founded in 2018 under Chery Holding Group, Jetour has quickly grown into a global brand, known for SUVs that combine modern design, comfort, and value.
According to its official profile, Jetour aims to deliver “good life cars” that meet contemporary consumer demands for performance, style, and safety.
Chief Operating Officer Zein Abdelmutaal encouraged Ugandans to embrace brand-new vehicles, highlighting that Jetour’s lineup addresses key market needs:
- Stylish and modern design
- Strong performance and safety
- Comfort and affordability
“We are fully committed to investing in aftersales support, availing spare parts, and building solid channels so maintaining a Jetour in Uganda is easy,” Abdelmutaal added.

Dashing and X70 Plus: Designed for Uganda
Richard Bamujje, Jetour’s Sales Manager, described the Dashing and X70 Plus as powerful, all-terrain SUVs designed for a safe, smooth, and exhilarating driving experience.
“Uganda’s automotive sector has long lacked variety and dependable solutions. With Jetour, we are filling that gap. From individuals seeking premium SUVs to corporate fleet managers looking to reduce costs, our vehicles combine quality, efficiency, and value,” Bamujje explained.
The Dashing is a compact yet bold SUV ideal for urban and off-road driving, while the X70 Plus offers a spacious, feature-rich experience for families and corporate clients.
Expanding the Market: T2 and Aftersales Support
Jetour plans to expand its lineup with the T2 later this year, offering even more choices for Ugandan drivers. The company emphasizes after-sales support, ensuring spare parts availability and maintenance channels are accessible nationwide.
This strategic entry comes amid a global surge in Chinese automotive brands, which have gained market share through competitive pricing, advanced technology, and strong local demand. In Europe, Chinese car brands doubled their market share in the first half of 2025, reaching 5.1%.
A Strong Promise for Uganda’s Auto Industry
With the launch of Dashing and X70 Plus, Jetour promises affordable performance, modern styling, and local support, signaling a new era for Uganda’s automotive sector.
The combination of global experience, robust aftersales networks, and versatile SUV options positions Jetour to compete strongly in Uganda’s growing automotive market.
