Hon. Balaam Barugahara, Uganda’s State Minister for Gender, Labour, and Social Development in charge of Children and Youth Affairs, has revealed a remarkable truth about his life: he became a billionaire at just 25 years old.

Known not only for his political influence but also as a media owner and music promoter, Balaam shared his journey to early wealth in a candid interview with Spark TV, attributing his success to God’s blessings.

“God Blessed Me With Money Early”

Speaking openly about his financial achievements, the 46-year-old minister said:

“God blessed me with money when I was below 45 years old. I was a billionaire at 25,” Balaam revealed.

He explained that his wealth was not just personal success but a tool for creating opportunities for others.

“I will confirm that I am a billionaire because I am a medium taxpayer. I pay a lot of taxes, and I’m employing so many young people in the different media houses we own, and the different businesses we are running,” he added.

From Billionaire to Servant of the People

Despite his impressive financial standing, Balaam emphasized that his current focus is on serving humanity, rather than accumulating more wealth.

“All I need from God is to serve humanity, to listen to people’s challenges, because some people want guidance. Not everybody who comes to my office wants money,” he explained.

His message highlights the importance of using wealth and influence responsibly, especially for public figures and business leaders in Uganda.
