Singer and presidential advisor Catherine Kusasira has officially marked a major milestone in her life — graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy from Nkumba University.

The Golden Production star, known for her strong vocals and unwavering loyalty to the government, proudly walked across the stage to receive her degree in front of cheering family, friends, and fans.

Balancing Stardom, Politics, and Studies

Kusasira’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. The celebrated performer began her studies in 2022, determined to juggle her busy music career, political responsibilities, and family life with the demands of higher education.

According to those close to her, the singer spent countless nights studying between shows, recording sessions, and official duties. Her perseverance paid off — and her graduation stands as proof that dedication and focus can make any goal possible.

“It hasn’t been easy,” one friend reportedly said. “But Catherine was determined to prove that education and success can go hand in hand, no matter how famous or busy you are.”

The joyful moment was made even more special as Kusasira was joined by her husband, musician Fred Sserugga, who has been one of her biggest supporters throughout her academic journey.

The two attended the Nkumba University graduation ceremony together, accompanied by a few close friends and colleagues who celebrated the singer’s remarkable achievement.

“We are so proud of her,” said a friend in attendance. “She’s been talking about this degree for a long time, and now she’s finally achieved it.”

A Degree With Purpose

Kusasira’s choice to pursue a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy wasn’t just about personal growth — it was strategic.

As a Presidential Advisor on Kampala Affairs, the singer’s new academic credentials could strengthen her influence in public policy, governance, and diplomatic engagement.

The degree also positions her for possible career advancement within government, fueling rumors that Kusasira might be preparing to take on a higher political role.

“Rumor has it that she’s lining herself up for a better government position,” one insider whispered. “This degree gives her the foundation to take that next big step.”

From the Stage to State House

Before stepping into politics, Catherine Kusasira built a name for herself as one of Uganda’s most respected female vocalists, delivering chart-topping hits under the Golden Production music label.

Her smooth voice, bold stage persona, and relatable lyrics earned her a massive fan base — but in recent years, she’s become equally known for her political advocacy and support for the ruling NRM government.

Her decision to pursue higher education aligns with her vision of becoming a more informed leader and using her platform to inspire other artists to embrace education and civic participation.

“Education is power,” another added. “Catherine is setting the bar high for all female artists in Uganda.”

Supporters across the country have hailed her as an example of grace, determination, and transformation, celebrating her ability to balance fame and purpose.

A Message to the Youth

Through her achievement, Kusasira sends a powerful message to young Ugandans — that education remains a vital key to success, no matter one’s profession or age.

In previous interviews, she’s encouraged her fans to stay focused, work hard, and never give up on learning, reminding them that knowledge opens doors fame alone cannot.

“If you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything,” she once said. “Music gave me a voice, but education gives me the confidence to use it better.”

A Star Still Rising

As she celebrates this milestone, Catherine Kusasira joins a growing list of Ugandan celebrities turning their influence into action — from pursuing education to entering politics and championing change.

With her degree in hand and ambitions soaring higher than ever, it seems the “Mama Golden Voice” is just getting started.

Congratulations, Catherine Kusasira — from the stage to the graduation stage, your journey continues to inspire.
