Award-winning Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo has finally addressed the burning question on every fan’s mind: why he didn’t attend the Grammys last weekend.

In a phone interview with Aggie Uwase on KFM’s DHook show, Kenzo explained that the reason was far from dramatic—it all came down to timing and juggling a packed schedule.

“Visa Timing Was the Issue”

Eddy Kenzo, who travels on a professional visa for his international shows, revealed the logistical hurdles that prevented him from flying to the U.S. in time.

“I couldn’t make it to the Grammys because my visa renewal was submitted a little late, and yet it had to be done in America since I travel with the professional visa,” he explained.

Despite the setback, Kenzo remained upbeat, choosing to share wisdom and advice for aspiring artists instead of dwelling on missing the event.

“Be intentional from the beginning, know what you want and work so hard towards it,” he urged.

He stressed that attention to detail is crucial in every aspect of music production:

  • Songwriting: Craft lyrics that resonate.
  • Production: Ensure every beat and instrument adds value.
  • Visuals: Music videos and visuals are as important as the music itself.

Kenzo’s emphasis highlights that international recognition doesn’t happen by chance—it’s the result of consistent, deliberate effort.
