Rising Ugandan star Nandor Love, real name Nantume Dorcus Tendo, is letting fans in on a touching chapter of her musical journey — one that started long before she ever hit the big stage.

The “Mpologoma” hitmaker recently shared that her love for music began in childhood, revealing that she actually wrote her first song while still in Primary Seven.

“I Was Born With the Gift of Music”

During a Q&A session with fans, Nandor Love responded to a question about what first inspired her to pursue a music career. Her answer melted hearts.

“I was born with the gift of doing music,” she said. “My mom told me I wrote my first song while in Primary Seven.”

She went on to reveal that the song — titled “Mazima” — remains a sweet memory within her family. Though Nandor admits she doesn’t recall all the lyrics, her mother still remembers and even sings it whenever she visits home.

“She always keeps reminding me of the song. It’s called ‘Mazima’. I grew up in church, and I found that I am very creative,” Nandor explained.

From Church Choirs to the Main Stage

Nandor’s early start in music is no surprise to those who know her story. She’s often spoken about growing up in a Christian family, where church choirs played a major role in shaping her artistic roots.

Her transition from singing in church to performing professionally was gradual but intentional. Over the years, she’s earned a loyal following with her soulful voice, emotional lyrics, and authentic storytelling — traits that have made her one of Uganda’s most promising singer-songwriters.
