After years away from the spotlight, Ugandan singer Qute Kaye has finally spoken out about his quiet disappearance from the music and social scene, revealing personal struggles and his journey to recovery.
The singer explained that he had left Uganda for the United Kingdom to visit family, during which he also pursued further education, enrolling in a course in Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — a program he successfully graduated from.
“During my stay in the UK, I focused on growth, healing, and equipping myself to help others,” he said.
From Addiction to Advocacy
Qute Kaye opened up about his past battles with drug addiction, emphasizing the challenges of recovery and the risks of relapse. He used his platform to encourage fellow artists, specifically Producer Didi and Geosteady, who have also faced addiction challenges.
“I congratulate Producer Didi and Geosteady for having recovered from the state they were facing. I know it’s not an easy journey,” he said.
“Now, I urge you to maintain your sobriety and draw yourselves close to God. Addiction is hard to fully quit, which is why some relapse.”
He stressed the importance of spiritual grounding and community support in overcoming addiction, inviting other public figures to join him in helping the youth resist the growing grip of substance abuse.
“Geosteady and Didi accept God and listen to His voice. As you join me, we help many others,” Qute Kaye added.

Helping Others: From Rehab to Advocacy
Since his own recovery, Qute Kaye has been active in supporting individuals struggling with addiction, including high-profile figures in Uganda. His work focuses on awareness, rehabilitation, and mentorship, helping those impacted by substance abuse regain control of their lives.

His story not only highlights his personal transformation but also reflects a growing movement of celebrities using their platforms to combat addiction and inspire change in the next generation.
