At just 19 years old, Gia Nina is already carving out a name for herself across multiple corners of Uganda’s entertainment industry.
Known off stage as Rich Miracle Namuyiga, the rising entertainer has built a personal brand that spans social media influencing, dance, content creation, and deejaying. Performing under the names Gia Nina, Jenina, and DJ GiGi, she has spent the past two years growing an audience while collaborating with major brands and expanding her presence both online and on stage.
In an exclusive conversation with MBU, the young entertainer opened up about her journey, the setback that nearly derailed her career, and why she believes consistency, planning, and resilience are the keys to long-term success.
From Dance Videos to Digital Influence
For Gia Nina, everything began with a passion for dance.
Long before she became known for promoting brands or entertaining crowds as a DJ, she spent countless hours watching dance videos across social media platforms while sharpening her own skills.
She says her love for dancing dates back to her school days, where she actively participated in Music, Dance, and Drama (MDD) activities.
“First was my passion for dance, and later I realized I could earn from it.”
As her videos attracted more attention online, opportunities soon followed.
Artists started reaching out, asking her to promote their music—a turning point she says completely changed how she viewed content creation.
“When artists started coming to me to promote their music, I was like, ‘So I can make money out of this?’ From that moment, I started preparing my rate card.”
That realization transformed what began as a hobby into a growing business.

Why DJing Became the Next Step
While dance introduced her to entertainment, music inspired her to broaden her talents.
Today, she performs as DJ GiGi, spinning a variety of genres while admitting she has a particular love for Dancehall.
For Gia Nina, DJing is about more than selecting tracks—it’s about creating memorable experiences.
“My love for music, how it makes people feel, and as an entertainer, anything that gives people joy, I take it as my obligation. I like to see people have fun.”
She adds that watching crowds dance to her mixes is one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.
Although she enjoys playing music from different genres, Dancehall remains her favorite.
Balancing Three Careers at Once
Juggling life as an influencer, dancer, and DJ requires careful organization.
Gia Nina credits much of her success to planning and having a dependable team around her.
“I just schedule my days, and I have a great team, so everything is planned ahead. I know where I am supposed to be, what I am supposed to be doing, and at what time.”
She admits balancing multiple careers can sometimes become overwhelming, but believes preparation keeps everything on track.
With events, content creation, brand campaigns, and performances often happening simultaneously, staying organized has become an essential part of her routine.
The Setback That Tested Her Resolve
Despite her growing success, Gia Nina says one experience challenged her more than any other.
She revealed that losing her TikTok account—which had amassed 2.1 million followers—was the biggest obstacle she has faced.
Beyond losing a large audience, the setback affected her income.
“That one really got to me because my money was being interrupted, and I don’t play about making money.”
Rather than allowing the loss to define her, she chose to rebuild.
She created another account and started over.
“But I picked myself up, made another account. Rest is history! All I can say, as long as you’re alive, nothing can stop you.”
Her experience reflects the unpredictable nature of building a career on social media, where creators often rely on digital platforms to reach audiences and generate income.
Working With Major Brands
As her audience has grown, so has her list of commercial partnerships.
Gia Nina says she has collaborated with several recognizable brands, including Yaket Water, MOVIT, Tecno, UBISCO, NISA, and Lana Custard Pie, among others.
Those partnerships have helped establish her as one of Uganda’s emerging digital creators while providing opportunities beyond entertainment.
She also takes pride in the financial independence her career has given her.
According to the influencer, every payment reminds her that the hard work is paying off.
She says she has even been able to purchase personal assets using money earned through her work—an achievement she considers one of her proudest milestones.
Staying Connected With Her “Real Ones”
Unlike many public figures, Gia Nina says she doesn’t refer to her supporters as fans.
Instead, she calls them her “real ones.”
She actively engages with them by reposting their videos, responding to comments, and sharing personal experiences during live sessions.
Her goal, she says, is to remind people that she is still learning and growing like everyone else.
“Hope they know I am just like them (human), make mistakes, learn, and do better.”
That authenticity, she believes, has helped her build genuine connections beyond likes and follower counts.

Looking Ahead
Despite achieving significant milestones at a young age, Gia Nina says she isn’t rushing the future.
Her focus remains on continuous improvement.
“I just want to be the best at what I do, learn more, and unlearn the bad. Honestly, I am taking it a day at a time and am hopeful.”
She also shared a message for those who continue to support her journey.
“I don’t call them fans, but my real ones—I love you so much. Your support means the world to me. I see it and appreciate it. Always be true to yourselves, pray, make money, invest it, and stay humble; it gets you to all places you never imagined.”
Why Gia Nina’s Journey Matters
In an era where digital platforms have created new opportunities for young creatives, Gia Nina’s story highlights how talent, adaptability, and business awareness can come together to build a career.
From dancing in school competitions to working with established brands and entertaining crowds as DJ GiGi, she has embraced multiple disciplines while continuing to evolve.
For the 19-year-old entertainer, success isn’t defined by follower counts alone. It’s about creating opportunities, overcoming setbacks, and inspiring others to keep moving forward—one performance, one post, and one mix at a time.
