Ugandan singer A Pass has explained why his fellow musicians were not present at his customary wedding ceremony with his wife, Alicia.
The “Wuuyo” hitmaker surprised fans over the weekend when he revealed his marriage and shared photos from the intimate traditional ceremony.
However, the absence of other artists at the event raised questions among fans who expected some of his fellow musicians to attend the major milestone.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session after the ceremony, A Pass clarified that the decision was intentional, saying the celebration was designed to bring families together rather than become a celebrity gathering.
A Pass Says the Ceremony Was About Family, Not Fame
During the livestream, A Pass revealed that he was the only musician present at the customary wedding.
The singer explained that inviting many artists would have changed the purpose of the traditional ceremony, which he believes should focus on the union between two families.
“It doesn’t make sense to take musicians and fill up the ceremony there when the woman’s family is handing their girl over to you,” A Pass said.
He added that although he has many friends within the music industry, he wanted to keep different parts of his life separate.
“I have a lot of friends but I don’t want to be mixing up things,” he explained.
For A Pass, the occasion was not about creating a public event filled with famous guests, but about respecting cultural traditions and honoring the families involved.

A Pass Explains His Reason for Getting Married
The singer also opened up about the deeper meaning behind his decision to formalize his relationship with Alicia.
According to A Pass, the customary ceremony was an opportunity to show respect to his partner and her family while officially bringing both families together.
“First of all to respect my lady and to respect her family and bring our families together to see that we have made a decision to push on life and create a family together, that was the reason,” he said.
His comments highlight his view of marriage as a commitment between families rather than only a personal celebration.
The singer emphasized that the ceremony represented a serious decision about building a future together.

A Pass’ Surprise Marriage Announcement
A Pass recently caught fans off guard after sharing photos appearing to confirm his marriage to Alicia.
The singer posted images of himself dressed elegantly alongside his partner, with the simple caption: “Married.”
The announcement quickly attracted congratulatory messages from fans, friends, and fellow entertainers.
While many celebrated the milestone, the private nature of the ceremony reflected A Pass’ decision to keep the occasion focused on close family members.
The customary wedding marked a new chapter for the singer, who had previously revealed that he was in a serious relationship and had plans for a traditional marriage ceremony.
Why A Pass Chose Privacy for His Big Moment
Celebrity weddings often attract public attention, with fans eager to see famous guests, performances, and behind-the-scenes moments.
However, A Pass’ decision reflects a different approach — prioritizing cultural meaning and family involvement over publicity.
Traditional marriage ceremonies in many communities are viewed as important family occasions where relatives formally recognize and celebrate a union.
By keeping the guest list limited, A Pass says he wanted the focus to remain on the commitment being made between the two families.
The Human Side of A Pass’ Marriage Journey
Behind the music career and public image, A Pass’ wedding represented a personal milestone centered on love, respect, and family.
The singer’s explanation shows that he viewed the ceremony as a meaningful transition rather than an entertainment event.
As A Pass and Alicia begin this new chapter together, the artist appears focused on building a family while keeping some of life’s biggest moments away from the spotlight.
