Mathias Walukagga has revisited an old relationship experience involving city socialite Don Chris, claiming the businessman once won over a woman he was dating.
Walukagga shared the story as Don Chris, whose real name is Christian Asiimwe, remains on remand over fraud-related charges. The socialite is expected back in court on September 21, 2026.
Despite the history between them, Walukagga says he has no grudge against Don Chris and does not wish to see him suffer.
In fact, the singer suggested the situation may have started without Don Chris knowing that the woman was already his girlfriend.
“I am not cursing or sad, but where’s he now? I don’t wish him to be in prison. Maybe he vibed the girl unknowingly that she was my girlfriend, but he took her.”
According to Walukagga, the breakup was particularly painful because he had invested heavily in the relationship. Then, seemingly without warning, the woman stopped responding to his calls.

It was his friends who eventually gave him the explanation.
“People told me not to bother because Don Chris had taken her. I didn’t know him or what he does because, for me, I mostly follow football and politics.”
Walukagga said his view of the situation later changed after he encountered Don Chris with socialite Momo19 and saw the kind of money he was reportedly spending.
That moment, he explained, helped him understand why his former girlfriend may have been attracted to Don Chris.
“He was splashing money, and then I gave up. I understood why the girl left because if I was her, I’d leave too.”
The singer’s comments come as Don Chris faces a separate legal battle over fraud-related allegations. His current court situation is unrelated to Walukagga’s account of their past relationship.
For Walukagga, however, the old romantic disappointment appears to have become a story he can now tell without bitterness — even while acknowledging that, at the time, losing the relationship was far from easy.
