Kizza Besigye’s family is mourning the death of Righteous Ariho, known affectionately as Rai, who died Thursday morning while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit at Mulago Hospital.
Righteous was the son of Adam Ampa Besigye, who shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional tribute to his young son.
Adam described Rai as a precious gift who transformed his life by giving him the opportunity to become a father. He said his son was born during the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“You came into this world during the tough times of the COVID-19 pandemic and gave me the greatest gift of my life. The opportunity to become your father.”
Adam also reflected on his son’s final battle, describing Rai as a “warrior” and expressing his belief that he is now resting with Jesus Christ.
“You fought until the end, my warrior. You now rest peacefully in the arms of the King of Peace, Jesus Christ. You have become my guardian angel, watching over me from above.”
The loss has prompted messages of condolence from friends, relatives and well-wishers as the family grieves the young boy.
