Former NBS TV news anchor Mildred Tuhaise has started a new chapter in her career after joining the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) as Manager of Public Engagement and Brand Ambassadorship.
NWSC’s Directorate of Public Relations and Communication announced Tuhaise’s appointment, welcoming the veteran broadcaster to the corporation and highlighting her experience in journalism and strategic communication.
“We warmly welcome Ms Mildred Tuhaise, who joins us as Manager, Public Engagement and Brand Ambassadorship,” the corporation said in a statement.

NWSC described Tuhaise as a strategic media and communication professional with extensive experience at both national and institutional levels.
The corporation said her professional background combines journalism, corporate communication and public sector management, skills that it expects her to bring to her new position.
Tuhaise will be responsible for strengthening NWSC’s engagement with the public and contributing to the corporation’s brand and communication strategy.
According to NWSC, she also has experience handling complex and sensitive communication matters, including shaping institutional narratives and advising senior leaders on communication risks and opportunities.

“Mildred is skilled in handling sensitive issues, shaping institutional narratives, and advising senior leadership on communication risks and opportunities,” the corporation said.
Her appointment marks a significant shift from the newsroom to institutional communication after a lengthy career in broadcasting.
Tuhaise left Next Media at the end of May 2026, bringing nearly two decades in broadcast journalism to a close. Her move to NWSC now puts her media and communication experience in a corporate and public-sector setting.
The new role also positions Tuhaise on the other side of the communication process — from delivering news and engaging television audiences to helping an institution communicate with the public and manage its brand.
For Tuhaise, the NWSC appointment marks the latest step in a career that has evolved from broadcast journalism into strategic communication and public engagement.
