US-based Ugandan model, socialite and philanthropist Doreen Kabareebe Harris has taken a major step toward a long-held ambition after joining the US Army recruitment process.
Kabareebe, who relocated from Uganda to the United States more than four years ago to live with her husband, Corey Harris, has been pursuing a new chapter in her life while building a family in America.
The couple welcomed a daughter in 2023, and Kabareebe has since continued working toward some of the personal goals she set for herself after moving to the US.

Joining the US Army is one of those ambitions.
Kabareebe recently shared photos showing her alongside fellow recruits as they met with their recruiter, marking the beginning of what she described as an important new journey.
She said she is aware of the work ahead but believes she is ready for the challenge.
“The hard work starts now, but I know I have what it takes to crush the basic training. May courage and honor guide me and my peers through every step ahead,” Kabareebe wrote on X.
Speaking to MBU, she described joining the Army as a long-term dream and expressed appreciation for the welcome she received from her recruiter.
“MBU they have a beauty queen in the army now. What a warm welcome from my recruiter. When I want something, nemelako paka nkifunye,” she said.
Her comments signal a determined start to a path that will require her to complete the relevant recruitment and training stages.

For Kabareebe, the move represents another significant chapter since leaving Uganda for the United States. While she has been known publicly for her modelling and socialite profile, she is now pursuing an entirely different challenge through military service.
She also appears to be embracing the demanding nature of the process, particularly the basic training stage that lies ahead.
For now, Kabareebe is at the beginning of the journey, but she has made her intentions clear: she wants to see the dream through.
