Venus Haircare is putting Ugandan salonists at the center of its latest relaunch, bringing salon owners and stylists together for a hands-on workshop introducing the brand’s refreshed product range.
The workshop, held at Hotel La Grande, comes after a Venus rebrand that PZ Cussons says was shaped by research involving consumers and hair care professionals.
Rather than simply rolling out a new look and range from behind the scenes, the company says it first gathered feedback from the people using and recommending its products.

“The Venus rebrand did not start in a boardroom. It started with research,” said Phina Baddie, Beauty and Haircare Specialist at PZ Cussons. “We listened to consumers and stylists about what they need from their hair care, and the refreshed Venus is our response to what people asked for.”
The salon focus is deliberate. Stylists play a major role in helping clients choose products and maintain their hair between appointments, whether they are working with braids, relaxed hair, natural hair or other protective styles.
During the workshop, salonists got to test and learn about products across the refreshed Venus range through live demonstrations and product sessions.
The sessions featured the Venus Moisture Seal 5-in-1 Strengthening Oil Blend, positioned around moisture retention and strength; Venus Anti-Dandruff 2-in-1 Scalp Care, focused on scalp health; Venus Finishing Mousse, designed for definition and polish; and Venus Braid Spray, aimed at keeping braided and protective styles fresh for longer.
Cynthia Abuti, Haircare Brand Manager at PZ Cussons, said the company wanted stylists to experience the products directly rather than simply receive information about them.
“Salonists are the people our consumers trust most when it comes to their hair,” Abuti said. “We wanted them to experience the range first-hand, ask questions and leave confident to recommend Venus to their clients.”
The relaunch also comes with a distribution change in Uganda.
PZ Cussons has appointed Growwell Uganda Limited as the official distributor of its brands in the Ugandan market, including Venus Haircare and Imperial Leather. The company expects the new arrangement to improve product availability for salons, retailers and consumers across the country.

Beyond product education, the workshop highlighted the economic role of salons, which provide livelihoods for women and young entrepreneurs. For PZ Cussons, equipping stylists with product knowledge is therefore also about helping salon professionals deliver better services and strengthen their businesses.
Venus says it will continue engaging salon professionals and consumers through additional activations in Uganda in the coming weeks.
