Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz has hinted that a long-awaited collaboration with a Ugandan artist could finally reach listeners before the end of 2026, following several unsuccessful attempts to release music with musicians from Uganda.
The Wasafi boss made the revelation during a press conference in Kampala on Thursday evening, after arriving in the country ahead of a scheduled performance.
According to Diamond, he has spent considerable time working in the studio with Ugandan artists, recording more collaborations with musicians from Uganda than artists from any other country. However, none of those projects has officially been released.

He believes the delays have largely come down to timing, rather than disagreements or blame between the artists involved.
“Honestly, it’s just God and timing because I have done more songs with different artists from here than I’ve done with any artists from any other country. Unfortunately, none of those songs are out yet,” he explained.
The singer added that neither he nor the Ugandan artists should be blamed for the unreleased projects, suggesting that circumstances have repeatedly interrupted their plans.
Over the years, Diamond has been linked to possible collaborations with several Ugandan musicians, including Spice Diana, Fik Fameica and Gloria Bugie. Although some of these projects have previously generated excitement, they have yet to materialise into officially released songs.
Despite the repeated delays, the Tanzanian star has not given up on his ambition to work with Uganda’s music scene. He suggested that the two countries’ longstanding relationship could provide the foundation for a major musical project with international appeal.
“Maybe God plans something very big because Tanzania and Uganda have a good history,” he said, adding that previous attempts had repeatedly faced interruptions.

Diamond expressed hope that a collaboration could finally be released either before the end of this year or sometime next year.
“Maybe next year or at the end of this year, we may have a song out. I’ve always wanted to have a song with an artist here,” he said.
For now, the singer has not identified which Ugandan artist could feature on the anticipated release, and no official release date or confirmed project details have been announced.
Still, his latest remarks have renewed interest in the possibility of a Tanzania-Uganda musical partnership, particularly among fans who have waited for some of the previously discussed collaborations to become reality.
