Rising Ugandan singer Ava Peace has addressed the surge of online criticism directed at her, taking aim at internet trolls who only seem to attack artists once they achieve fame.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session, Ava expressed her frustration and bemusement over the timing of social media negativity.

“How come these people who abuse us don’t exist in the process when we are pushing to become stars? The moment you get your fame, they storm you,” she asked her followers.

Responding to Harsh Criticism

The singer’s comments come in response to a recent online critic who questioned her rise to stardom. Ava made it clear that negative feedback doesn’t faze her, but she finds it puzzling that people only show disapproval after an artist succeeds.

“I’m not bothered by the criticism. I just wonder why people wait until you are successful before throwing shade,” she said.

The Jeff Kiwa Connection and Fan Comparisons

Since her breakthrough, Ava Peace has been at the center of fan debates and online discussions, largely due to her being managed by Jeff Kiwa, former manager of Sheebah Karungi.

This connection has fueled comparisons between Ava and Sheebah, with fans often debating who is superior, adding extra heat to her online presence.

“People like to compare me because of my management, but I’m focused on building my own brand,” Ava added.

Staying Focused Amid Social Media Drama

Despite the trolling, Ava maintains a calm and focused approach to her career, using the negativity as motivation rather than letting it derail her progress.

“I’m here to do my thing and make music. The rest is noise,” she remarked.

Fans quickly rallied behind her on social media, praising her maturity and focus, with many noting that criticism is part of the journey to success.

Takeaway

Ava Peace’s reaction highlights a common challenge for rising artists: navigating online scrutiny while staying true to their craft. Her message resonates with many creatives, encouraging them to ignore the trolls and keep pushing forward.

“I just want people to know that success comes with challenges, and online hate is one of them. Focus on your grind,” Ava concluded.
