Long before Almorie Naggayi became a contestant in the Miss Uganda 2026 competition, she was already spending some of her time volunteering and supporting community initiatives.
One of those experiences came after the Kiteezi garbage landslide, when Almorie was still a high school student.
During her school holiday, she joined the Judith Nahurira Foundation in efforts to support families affected by the disaster. She accompanied the foundation’s team into affected communities, helping distribute donations and relief supplies while interacting with people dealing with the aftermath of the tragedy.

At the time, Almorie was not preparing for a Miss Uganda campaign.
There was no pageant title attached to the work and no expectation that she would be publicly recognised for it. It was simply one of the ways she chose to spend her time.
The experience became part of a broader pattern of community involvement that has continued through different stages of her journey.
As the inaugural Miss Uganda High School 2024/25, Almorie took part in school visits and charity initiatives, particularly those involving young people.
Her current Miss Uganda journey has also brought community development into focus through her Beauty With a Purpose project, which centres on financial literacy and vocational skills for young women and girls.

The project focuses on equipping participants with knowledge and practical skills aimed at supporting financial independence.
That progression—from volunteering as a student, to taking part in charity initiatives during her Miss Uganda High School reign, and now developing a purpose-driven project—has made community service a recurring part of Almorie’s pageant journey.
Almorie is currently Contestant 19 in the Miss Uganda 2026 competition, representing Masaka City and the Central Region.
Her pageant profile also includes experience in leadership, debate, sports and media, but her community work provides another dimension to her journey beyond the competition itself.
Ultimately, the Miss Uganda crown will be determined through the pageant process. But Almorie’s history of volunteering offers voters another aspect of her story to consider as they follow her campaign.
For Almorie, the focus on service did not begin with a crown or a pageant sash. Her involvement in community initiatives started while she was still a student.
Now, that experience forms part of the story she is bringing into the Miss Uganda 2026 competition.
