Almorie Sophia Nagayi, a 19-year-old beauty queen from Masaka, has been crowned Miss Uganda 2026/27 after winning the national pageant’s grand finale at Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Nagayi emerged ahead of 21 other finalists to claim the coveted title, beginning a new chapter as one of Uganda’s representatives on the national beauty pageant stage.
Bridget Prudence Nakato finished as first runner-up, while Lukia Balunywa secured the second runner-up position, completing the top three at the competition.

Nagayi was visibly delighted when her name was announced as the winner. Her victory marks another milestone in a pageant journey that includes a previous title: she was crowned Miss Uganda High School in 2024 while attending Aga Khan High School.
The new queen now follows Trivia Elle Muhoza, who held the Miss Uganda 2025/26 title. The transition marks the beginning of a new reign, with Nagayi expected to represent the country through the responsibilities associated with the crown.
The grand finale brought together 22 finalists who had advanced through a nationwide search. Beyond the main title, the event also recognised other contestants in different categories, making the evening a broader celebration of the competition’s participants.

This year’s pageant also coincided with the celebration of 15 years of the Miss Uganda Foundation, which operates under the stewardship of Brenda Nanyonjo.
The foundation has been central to the Miss Uganda platform, which brings together contestants from across the country to compete for the national title. The anniversary added another milestone to a night focused on crowning a new queen and recognising the finalists’ achievements.
For Nagayi, the win represents a significant step from her earlier success in the school-level pageant to Uganda’s main beauty competition. At just 19, she takes over the crown for the 2026/27 season, with her victory placing her at the centre of the country’s beauty pageant scene.
With the top three now decided, Nagayi’s reign begins as she succeeds Muhoza and takes on the Miss Uganda title for the coming season.
