Discovering a Passion for Deejaying
DJ Adon’s connection with music started during his school years when he developed an interest in deejaying.
He says the passion grew stronger while he was in high school, eventually pushing him to pursue it professionally.
“Listening to local artists and the love of music generally influenced me,” he explained.
For Adon, music was not just entertainment—it became a space where creativity, culture, and connection came together.
His first major career milestone arrived when he appeared on television for the first time on NBS TV’s Katchup show.
That opportunity became a turning point.
“I actually ended up working at NBS TV for four years,” he revealed.
The experience helped him gain industry exposure while strengthening his skills behind and beyond the decks.

A Versatile Sound Built Around Different Genres
DJ Adon describes himself as an open-format DJ, meaning he is comfortable working across multiple musical styles.
Rather than limiting himself to one sound, he focuses on blending different genres to suit different audiences and events.
“I am an open format DJ and versatile. I am capable of blending all types of genres,” he said.
Among the genres closest to him are reggae, R&B, and dancehall.
He believes understanding different styles of music allows him to connect with diverse audiences and create memorable experiences.

Career Highlights and Major Performances
One of DJ Adon’s most memorable career moments came from performing at B Club Kampala, an experience he describes as a major highlight.
The event also gave him an opportunity to share the stage with international entertainers, including South African artist Costa Titch and Nigerian singer Crayon.
Beyond performances, DJ Adon has also built connections through collaborations with established Ugandan musicians.
He previously served as the official DJ for Ziza Bafana and has worked with legendary Ugandan artist Jose Chameleone.
He has also teamed up with producers including T.O.N. and says he has music projects in development.
Staying Prepared in a Fast-Changing Industry
For DJ Adon, preparation is one of the biggest parts of being successful.
He says he constantly listens to music and keeps himself updated with new releases while also studying older classics.
“I listen to music 24/7, so I keep updating myself with the latest releases,” he shared.
According to the DJ, understanding both current trends and timeless records helps him prepare better sets for different events.
His approach reflects the demands of modern deejaying, where entertainers must understand audiences, trends, and music history.

Challenges Facing Rising DJs
Although DJ Adon has achieved several milestones, he says breaking into the industry remains challenging for many upcoming talents.
One of the biggest struggles, according to him, is securing opportunities and building connections.
“While still new in the game, it’s hard to get gigs and connections,” he explained.
He believes many talented DJs become discouraged during the early stages of their careers because opportunities can be limited.
For Adon, supporting young talent is one reason he hopes to establish a DJ school in the future.
Building a Future for Uganda’s DJ Scene
DJ Adon’s goals extend beyond personal success.
He hopes to grow his brand, establish a strong legacy, and contribute to developing Uganda’s entertainment industry.
One of his biggest ambitions is launching a DJ academy where young creatives can receive guidance and opportunities.
“I aspire to grow my brand, build my legacy, and most importantly take the game to the next level while helping younger DJs build up,” he said.
The planned academy reflects his desire to give back and create a stronger foundation for future DJs.
Outside deejaying, DJ Adon enjoys football and considers it his second major passion.
He says he enjoys both watching and playing the sport whenever he gets time away from music.
Balancing career demands and personal life requires focus, he says.
Adon credits his spouse for providing encouragement and motivation as he continues pursuing his goals.
A typical day away from performances involves exercise, preparing music sets, and working on production
DJ Adon’s story reflects the journey many young creatives experience—turning passion into a profession while navigating uncertainty, competition, and the pressure to stand out.
From his early days discovering music in school to sharing stages with established performers, he continues building step by step.
His vision is not only about becoming a recognized DJ but also about creating opportunities for others who dream of following the same path.
DJ Adon is betting on consistency, creativity, and community to shape his future in Uganda’s entertainment industry. With plans for a DJ academy and a growing career behind the decks, he hopes his biggest contribution will be helping the next generation find their own sound.
