Upcoming Ugandan musician Echoled has revealed his current top five favorite songs, with his own track “Negumya” taking the top spot ahead of music from Joshua Baraka, A Pass, Jenesis Kimera and Mbeewo.
Echoled shared the list while appearing on NBS Plus, where he was asked to name the songs he is currently enjoying.
At number one, the rising artist chose his own song, “Negumya,” explaining that the track holds particular meaning because it was inspired by a personal emotional experience.
“The first one is Negumya by me, I love the song. It’s an iconic song that I wrote based on true emotional story of myself.”
Joshua Baraka’s “This Time” came in at number two, giving the singer-songwriter one of the top spots on Echoled’s personal playlist.

A Pass followed at number three with his new song “Domino.”
For the fourth position, Echoled selected Jenesis Kimera, although he did not specify a particular song by the artist.
Mbeewo completed the list at number five with “Owakabi Wange.”
Echoled’s selections offer a snapshot of the music currently catching his attention, while also putting his own work alongside releases from some of Uganda’s established and emerging artists.
As Echoled continues releasing music and building his audience, “Negumya” remains particularly significant to him — not simply because it is his own song, but because of the personal story he says inspired it.
