Catherine Tumusiime, popularly known as Kapa Cat, is single again, but the Ugandan singer says she has not closed the door on love.
The singer has revealed that she is currently not dating anyone, although she remains open to relationships when she meets someone who understands her personality and matches her energy.
Speaking about her approach to romance, Kapa Cat described herself as a sweet and loyal partner who becomes fully committed once she chooses someone.
“Right now, no. But I do date. I get people that understand me. I’m sweet, loyal, and when I choose you, you will know everything about me. We do everything together,” she said.

Kapa Cat added that the side of her personality she shows in romantic relationships is largely reserved for the people closest to her. According to the singer, fans who know her primarily through her music and public appearances might be surprised by how she behaves in a relationship.
Her comments offer a glimpse into a private side of the entertainer, who has also shared details about the length of her previous romances.
The singer revealed that her longest relationship lasted four years. She also had another relationship that lasted three years, while her most recent romance came to an end after approximately two and a half years.
“I’ve had a four-year-long relationship and a three-year one. This one that just ended was two and a half, I think,” she explained.
Despite the end of her latest relationship, Kapa Cat said she is not dealing with heartbreak, suggesting that the current dating environment leaves little room for dwelling on a breakup.
“Right now, I’m not nursing a heartbreak because in this generation there’s no such thing anymore. There’s no time for those things,” she said.
While her comments on relationships offer a personal update, Kapa Cat also addressed a significant change in how she approaches her music career.
The singer explained why she no longer regularly performs at concerts organised by fellow musicians, as she did more frequently in the past.
According to Kapa Cat, the shift reflects a better understanding of the music business and the need to build revenue streams beyond performing on stage.
“This time around, let’s attribute that to growth and realising how business goes, because I sat down and understood the business and mastered it,” she said.

Kapa Cat explained that being a recognised name should create opportunities to generate income away from live performances, particularly when stage appearances are becoming less financially rewarding.
“I realised my name won’t give money only on stage, but also off stage, since stage is giving less. I shifted that to making money in different ways with my name,” she added.
Her remarks point to a broader business-minded approach to her career, with the singer focusing on making her name and brand commercially valuable beyond concert appearances.
For Kapa Cat, the priority is no longer simply showing up at other artists’ events. She says understanding the economics of the industry has pushed her to consider other ways of earning from the recognition she has built.
The singer’s latest comments therefore touch on two sides of her life: a willingness to pursue love when the right connection comes along and a growing focus on the business opportunities that can sustain her music career.
