Ugandan musician Mozelo Kidz has revealed that gambling could have become his full-time occupation if his music career had not worked out.
The artist, who is closely associated with Fik Fameica and the Fresh Gang camp, said betting is often viewed simply as a pastime, yet some people are able to turn it into a source of income.
For Mozelo, however, music has provided a more reliable path.
He explained that the money he puts into his music comes from his performances, including shows at schools and other events.
“The money I invest in music is got from music. I perform and do shows. I perform at schools, so the shows I get monthly depends but I’m active.”

Mozelo also said he earns money when he joins Fik Fameica for performances. According to the musician, his appearances alongside the rapper are sometimes planned as surprises for audiences.
That frequent association has also created the impression that Mozelo is officially signed to Fik Fameica’s Fresh Gang management. He has now clarified that there is no formal management relationship.
“I am not under Fik (or Fresh Gang management), Fik is my brother, my neighbour and we are close,” he said.
Mozelo’s comments draw a distinction between his personal relationship with Fik and his professional career. Although the two are regularly seen together and share stages, Mozelo says their connection is rooted primarily in friendship and their close relationship as neighbours.
The clarification also comes as Mozelo continues building his own music career, including pursuing collaborations with other Ugandan artists.
For now, the musician says music is paying the bills — meaning gambling remains the career he says he might have pursued had his musical ambitions taken a different turn.
