Okoobah Shakirah Kadhanah is stepping into the spotlight as the countdown to the Miss Tourism East Africa final continues, with her confidence, poise and pageant experience earning attention from fans.
A Ugandan tourism professional, beauty queen, brand ambassador and entrepreneur, Shakirah has built her profile around tourism, hospitality, women empowerment and community development.
Her academic background also aligns closely with the platform she is representing. Shakirah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Travel and Tourism Management from Makerere University Business School and has experience spanning tourism, brand representation, marketing, sales, customer service and events.

That combination of pageantry and tourism gives her a distinctive foundation as she heads toward the regional final.
Shakirah is also no stranger to the pageant world. She previously held the Miss Tourism Kigulu title and went on to become 1st Runner-Up Miss Tourism Busoga.
Those experiences have helped strengthen her leadership, public speaking, confidence and advocacy skills — qualities that now form part of her journey on the Miss Tourism East Africa stage.
Beyond the pageant crown, Shakirah has expressed a passion for using her platforms to inspire young women and promote Uganda’s tourism potential. Her interests also extend to creating meaningful community impact.
As the Miss Tourism East Africa final approaches, Shakirah’s journey brings together several parts of her professional identity: tourism, entrepreneurship, advocacy and pageantry.
For her, the competition represents more than a beauty title. It is another opportunity to place Uganda’s tourism story, women’s empowerment and community-focused advocacy in the regional spotlight.
