Ugandan musician Rasta Ofaria, real name Bernard Ojaku, has died, leaving West Nile’s music community and his fans mourning the loss of one of the region’s celebrated musicians.
Ofaria died on October 2, 2026, at Arua Regional Referral Hospital, according to reports.
The West Nile musician was a member of the legendary Ghetto Boyz Crew and became a prominent figure in the region’s music scene.
His death has triggered mourning among fans, fellow musicians and other music lovers who remember him for his music and distinctive personality.
Ofaria was also openly associated with the National Unity Platform (NUP) and publicly supported the party and its causes.
NUP Northern Vice-President Lina Zedriga Waru expressed shock over his death in a message shared on X, paying tribute to both his musical talent and political commitment.
“It is with utmost shock we learn of the tragic demise of Rasta Ofaria a.k.a Bernard Ojaku of Ghetto Boyz Crew. He very solidly subscribed to the National Unity Platform Party. Remembered for his inspiring music talent. May his soul R.I.P. as we join the family in these trying times.”
Beyond his music career, Ofaria was among Ugandan artistes who used their public platforms to engage with issues surrounding justice, peace and democratic change.
His death therefore marks a significant loss for the West Nile entertainment fraternity, where he had established himself as a recognizable musical voice.
