Grace Nakimera had heads turning before she even got down to business at her latest press conference, arriving in a dramatic look designed to portray someone who had been beaten, flogged and bloodied by the devil — but was still standing.
The singer is preparing for her highly anticipated concert on September 11 at Kampala Serena Hotel, and she used the pre-concert press conference at the same venue to make an entrance that was anything but ordinary.

Nakimera appeared covered in blood and dressed to represent a person who had endured a brutal encounter with the devil but continued pushing forward despite the challenges.
The striking presentation quickly became one of the biggest talking points from the event, with the unusual imagery drawing attention both at the venue and online.
But Nakimera says the dramatic entrance was intentional. She explained that she simply wanted to bring something fresh and creative rather than follow the conventional approach to a press conference.
“I don’t like doing ordinary things, I like doing new and fresh things that are exciting, to be creative.”
The theatrical appearance fits the singer’s approach to showmanship, particularly as she builds anticipation for her September 11 concert.
The press conference also produced another notable moment when fellow singer Cindy Sanyu turned up to support Nakimera ahead of the concert.
Nakimera used the opportunity to praise Cindy for her support of fellow musicians, describing her as the “King Herself.”
“Cindy is always there. She wishes others well and she has no problem and I also like stars like her, that’s the King Herself.”
The praise was followed by an unexpected musical development.
Nakimera extended a collaboration request to Cindy during the event, and Cindy accepted, opening the possibility of a new project involving the two Ugandan singers.
For now, Nakimera’s concert remains the main event. But if her press conference entrance is anything to go by, she appears determined to make sure the show itself is anything but ordinary.
