Bebe Cool’s footballing son Alpha Ssali is backing his younger brothers Caysan and Deen to make a major impact in Ugandan football.
Alpha, who currently plays for Express FC, spoke about his brothers’ development in an interview with Pitchside, praising the footballing foundation they are receiving at El Cambio.
According to Alpha, both youngsters have been given the right environment to develop their abilities, with their progress already becoming noticeable.
“Both are in El Cambio. Caysan joined at 12, and Deen joined at 8 years old. They only come home in December. The rest of the year, they are in Masaka; they live there,” Alpha explained.
He reserved particular praise for Caysan, a left-footed midfielder whom he believes has the qualities to become one of the best players in his position locally.
Alpha compared Caysan’s playing style to Manchester City and former Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez and Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, pointing to his technical ability and calmness on the ball.
“Caysan is a left-footed player. Mr. Nonchalant. I think he is going to be one of the best. He is very silky like Mahrez and Olise,” Alpha said.
The Express FC player also highlighted the progress Caysan has made since joining El Cambio, noting that he quickly developed an ability to play two-touch football after his first year at the academy.
“People should forget me in terms of what my brothers are going to bring,” Alpha added.
Alpha was equally enthusiastic about Deen, describing him as a versatile attacker capable of playing as a No. 9 or winger.
He likened Deen’s personality and approach to the game to Liverpool legend Luis Suarez, particularly his competitive nature, passion and determination to win.
“Deen, that’s a Luis Suarez. Very stubborn, he’s a 9, he’s a winger, very passionate, wants to win, very skillful, right-footed player,” Alpha said.
For Alpha, the biggest advantage is that his brothers are growing within structured football systems from a young age.
“They are growing up through the right systems,” he said.
With both Caysan and Deen continuing their development at El Cambio, Alpha believes Uganda could eventually have two more football talents ready to make their mark.
