Sheebah Karungi wants the public to remember one thing when judging celebrities: they are human too.
The singer made the remarks while hosting fellow artiste Winnie Nwagi on her podcast, Let’s Talk About It, where the pair discussed relationships, family and the pressure that comes with living life in the public eye.
According to Sheebah, celebrities often face harsher judgment simply because their personal lives attract more attention.
“People forget that we go through the same things as them but they make ours so big yet we are doing the same things.”
Sheebah also reflected on the criticism she faced after welcoming her child, particularly because the child’s father already has two daughters.

The singer said the reaction made it seem as though she had done something unusual, despite blended families and children from different relationships being common in Uganda and across Africa.
“Recently when I had my baby, my baby’s father has two other beautiful daughters but you’d think I was the first person to have a child with someone who already had kids.”
Sheebah explained that many families have children from different relationships and do not necessarily share both parents.
Her comments come as she continues to navigate the realities of motherhood while remaining one of Uganda’s most closely watched entertainers.
The singer acknowledged that criticism comes with being famous and said she has learned to accept that people will sometimes form opinions without knowing the complete story.

Still, she admitted that the intensity of the public reaction to her personal life caught her off guard.
“All because I’m Sheebah, it’s sad. It’s a blessing and a curse at the same time.”
For Sheebah, the attention that comes with celebrity status may be part of the job—but she believes it should not erase the basic humanity of the people living under the spotlight.
