Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi has responded to Sheilah Gashumba’s call for a ban on celebrity boxing with a proposal of his own: putting the influencer in the ring with her nemesis, Evelyn Mic.
Sheilah recently criticized Uganda’s growing celebrity boxing scene, describing some of the matches as “unprofessional” and warning that participants may not be receiving adequate physical and mental preparation.
Her comments came after Prima Kadarshi defeated Zahara Totto in a celebrity boxing match at Hamz Stadium.
Muhangi has now pushed back against Sheilah’s concerns, saying he plans to personally educate her about corporate and celebrity boxing.
Taking to social media, Muhangi also floated the idea of turning one of Sheilah’s public rivalries into an actual boxing showdown.
“My best friend Sheilah Gashumba I will privately educate you about corporate or celebrity boxing, we could actually organise a celebrity fight between yourself and Evelyn Mic.”
The proposal immediately introduces a potential new celebrity boxing storyline, pairing Sheilah with Evelyn Mic, a figure Muhangi identified as her “nemesis.”
Muhangi did not simply dismiss Sheilah’s concerns. Instead, he said he would explain how corporate and celebrity boxing works, while suggesting that she could experience the format for herself.
Sheilah has argued that participants in celebrity boxing need to be “physically and mentally fit” for the sport and warned that the public could eventually witness a serious incident if safety remains a concern.
Muhangi’s response sets up an interesting clash of perspectives: Sheilah is questioning whether celebrity boxing should continue in its current form, while the federation president is proposing that she step inside the ring herself.
For now, the Sheilah Gashumba vs Evelyn Mic fight remains a proposal rather than a confirmed bout.
