Evelyn Anite is sharing her formula for making a long-distance relationship work — and she says she is currently navigating one herself.
The former Koboko Municipality MP took to TikTok to offer advice to couples dealing with physical distance, highlighting communication and consistency as two of the biggest ingredients for keeping a relationship strong.
According to Anite, couples should make regular communication part of their daily routine rather than allowing distance to create emotional space.
She encouraged partners to check in with each other every day, including sending a message in the morning after waking up and another at night before going to bed.
“Communicate. You have to always be transparent and communicate with your partner,” Anite advised.
For her, staying in touch is about more than simply exchanging messages. She believes couples need to remain present in each other’s lives even when they cannot physically be together.
“When you’re not in touch, out of mind is out of sight,” she said.

Anite also acknowledged one of the challenges that can come with spending time apart: the presence of other people who may attract either partner.
“There are so many beautiful and good-looking people out there who are willing to snatch your partner,” she said, arguing that consistent communication can help couples remain connected and committed.
But communication alone is not enough, according to Anite. She also placed honesty at the center of a successful long-distance relationship.
“Do not tell lies, because if you do, you’ll lose them,” she cautioned.
Her advice ultimately comes down to three things: stay in contact, remain consistent and be honest with your partner.
For couples trying to make love work across different cities or countries, Anite’s message is simple — distance may separate two people physically, but she believes consistent communication can help keep the relationship close.
