Talent manager Ronnie Mutabaazi has entered the growing dispute between Eddy Kenzo and Bebe Cool, pushing back against Kenzo’s recent claims about the veteran musician’s conduct during the campaign season.
Kenzo has alleged in recent interviews that Bebe Cool betrayed him during the campaigns by turning the media team against him and preventing them from filming him despite what he described as a joint arrangement.
Ronnie has disputed that account, insisting that no media personnel were instructed to stop covering Kenzo.
“No media person was stopped from filming Kenzo; it is all a lie. I can swear on that,” Ronnie said.
He went further, accusing Kenzo of using sympathy to attract attention and suggesting that the singer’s recent comments were partly an attempt to regain media attention.
Ronnie also defended Bebe Cool against the accusations, arguing that the Gagamel International boss would have little reason to interfere with Kenzo’s media coverage.
“Bebe Cool with this good heart doesn’t have the time to stop the media team from filming Kenzo,” he said.
The talent manager also weighed in on Bebe Cool’s decision to leave his finance position at the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), saying he believed their values did not align.
Ronnie alleged that Kenzo and members of his cabinet prioritized taking a share of federation funds before considering other artists. He linked the issue to complaints from musicians who, according to him, said they had not received money.
“The difference between Bebe and Kenzo is that Bebe has a good heart and is transparent. You cannot receive money and first take your share before you think of others. Many artists complained that they didn’t get money,” Ronnie said.
Ronnie further claimed that Kenzo’s recent outburst was connected to Bebe Cool remaining active on the campaign trail despite what he described as attempts to undermine him and damage his reputation with their employers.
He urged Kenzo to stop making statements that, in his view, could harm Bebe Cool’s reputation.
“People are wicked. Bebe Cool is not even his age mate. He is in his own world doing his own things,” Ronnie said.
He also pointed to Bebe Cool’s three-decade career and family life while arguing that the two musicians operate in different spaces within Uganda’s entertainment industry.
The latest comments add another layer to the public back-and-forth surrounding the two musicians. Kenzo’s allegations and Ronnie’s response represent competing accounts of the events, and the supplied material does not independently establish the claims made by either side.
