Dax Vibez has acknowledged that he still has work to do on his vocals despite making noticeable progress as a live performer.
Speaking to KFM Radio, the Ugandan singer revealed that there was a time when he struggled to confidently sing live on stage. He says he has since worked on his vocals and can now perform better, although he does not consider himself finished with the process.
Dax also explained that he deliberately allowed some people to underestimate his abilities early on, using the criticism he received as motivation to improve.
“I was doing it intentionally because when they underestimate you, they can’t expect too much. I had to first get better, do research because I wasn’t where I am now, but I had to know people’s minds first. I had to get all the criticism so that I come out as a bad man,” he said.
Rather than presenting his vocal improvement as a finished product, Dax says he is still researching, practicing and working toward a higher standard.
The singer currently estimates that he has reached about 60 percent of the level he wants to achieve, suggesting that he sees considerable room for improvement.
“I have so far given you like 60%, but when I reach 75%, brace yourselves. I am doing research, practice, and I think by next year in April I’ll be on 74%,” Dax said.
That timeline gives him several more months to continue developing his live vocals and stage performance.
Dax also revealed plans to hold another concert in May next year, giving himself additional time to prepare before returning to the concert stage.
For now, Dax Vibez is treating his vocal development as an ongoing project — and he believes the version audiences hear next year will show just how much that work has paid off.
