Doreen Nasasira says she is well aware of the online attacks targeting her appearance after her recent comments about dating financially broke men went viral.
The media personality has faced a wave of criticism following a controversial KFM video in which she said she would not date a financially broke man. The clip sparked debate online, with the conversation eventually shifting from her views on relationships to comments about her appearance.
Nasasira says some critics have specifically targeted her eyes.
According to the media personality, images of her have been circulated online alongside jokes and commentary about the appearance of her eyes. She said one person even created a cartoon depicting one of her eyes as larger than the other.
“I have seen some photos highlighting my eyes. Someone drew a cartoon showing one of my eyes bigger than the other. They started this after my KFM video that has since gone viral,” Nasasira said.
Some of the online comments, she added, have gone as far as suggesting that she has a stroke, lazy eye or Bell’s palsy.
Those references were made by her critics; Nasasira did not say that she has any of those conditions.
Instead, she dismissed the commentary with a playful response, insisting that her eyes are simply part of her appearance.
“I am being called lame; some say I got a stroke, lazy eye, Bell’s palsy – a lot. But I just have sexy eyes. These are romantic eyes,” she said.
Her response comes after her remarks about relationships became a major talking point online. Nasasira previously stood by her position that she would not date a financially broke man, making clear that she was not apologizing for the stance that initially triggered the backlash.
The latest controversy has therefore shifted the conversation from Nasasira’s relationship preferences to the way critics are discussing her physical appearance.
For Nasasira, however, the answer appears straightforward: she is not interested in letting the jokes about her eyes change her mind—or her confidence.
