Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has responded to a request from popular TikTok personalities Peller and Jarvis to become the godmother to their unborn child, saying she must first pray and seek God’s approval before making a decision.
The request came during a livestream conversation involving the singer and the social media couple, who are expecting a child together.
Rather than immediately accepting the role, Tiwa said she wanted to consult God and establish whether taking on the responsibility aligned with His will.

Tiwa Savage Says She Must Pray First
During the conversation, Tiwa explained that she believes God should be consulted before making important decisions in life.
She told the couple that she would need time to pray about their proposal, leaving the possibility of accepting the role open.
“Godmother, let’s think about it. You know what, what I really should do is pray about it because I need to ask God His consent. You know, in everything, we have to go to God in everything we do. So you have to go to God and ask Him first. So, and if God says no, then I don’t know,” she said.
Her response suggested that the decision would not depend solely on the couple’s request but also on what she believes is the right spiritual choice.
Tiwa did not confirm whether she would ultimately accept the godmother role.
Peller and Jarvis Prepare to Welcome Their Child
Peller and Jarvis, both known for their TikTok content and livestream appearances, have attracted public attention with updates about their relationship and pregnancy.
Their request to Tiwa Savage adds another moment to their growing public story, bringing the Nigerian music star into the conversation surrounding their expected child.
Having a prominent singer as a godmother would be a notable connection for the couple, although Tiwa’s response makes clear that no final decision has been announced.

Peller Shares Views on Interethnic Marriage
Separately, Peller has encouraged Yoruba and Igbo people to consider relationships with partners from other ethnic backgrounds rather than restricting their choices to people from their own communities.
He argued that people who exclusively choose partners from their own ethnic groups could miss opportunities to experience relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds.
The comments reflect a separate discussion about relationships and cultural diversity, distinct from the couple’s request to Tiwa Savage.
For now, the question of whether Tiwa will become the godmother to Peller and Jarvis’s unborn child remains unanswered, with the singer saying she wants to pray before deciding.
