Ugandan singer Ava Peace has revealed that becoming a pilot was her childhood dream before she unexpectedly found her way into the music industry.
Speaking during a YouTube podcast, the singer said she had always wanted to fly planes and repeatedly identified piloting as her preferred career whenever students were asked about their ambitions at school.
“It’s what I knew and wanted, but I don’t know how I ended up doing music. But I wanted to be a pilot,” Ava Peace said.
Although her career eventually took a different direction, the singer said education has remained an important part of her journey.

Ava Peace on Her Childhood Career Ambition
Ava Peace’s revelation offers a glimpse into the ambitions she held before establishing herself as a musician.
She did not explain exactly what led her to pursue music instead of aviation, but she acknowledged that her professional path developed differently from what she had imagined as a child.
The singer has also pursued higher education, earning a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from university.
According to Ava Peace, the knowledge she gained through her studies continues to influence how she interacts with people and communicates messages to her audience.
How Ava Peace Uses Music to Promote Education
Beyond entertainment, Ava Peace said music has provided her with a platform to engage with communities and encourage young people to take their education seriously.
She explained that she uses her performances not only to entertain audiences but also to share advice with students.
“It’s more community work, and it’s more of speaking to people, so I talk to them through music,” she explained.

The singer added that she sometimes pauses during performances to address students, encouraging both girls and boys to remain in school and take advantage of the educational opportunities available to them.
“I take breaks during my performances to advise girls and boys in schools to stay there and utilise the opportunity,” she said.
Her comments highlight the role she believes musicians can play in reaching young audiences beyond the stage.
While becoming a pilot remains the childhood ambition she has shared publicly, Ava Peace has built a career in music that she says allows her to communicate with communities and advocate for education.
