Nigerian singer Skales has revealed that he has made several attempts to settle his long-standing disagreement with Wizkid, offering fresh details about how their relationship broke down.
The Shake Body hitmaker opened up about the situation during a recent interview with Osi Suave, tracing the tension back to a question-and-answer session he once held on Twitter.
According to Skales, a social media user asked him about Wizkid during the session, prompting him to respond that the Starboy singer no longer had his attention.
The comment quickly gained traction online, and Skales believes it may have contributed to the breakdown in their relationship.
“I was doing question and answering (Q&A) on Twitter when someone asked me about Wizkid and I said, ‘Wizkid no get my time again,’ and before I knew it that tweet was going viral. I think Wizkid didn’t like me,” Skales recalled.
He also addressed a previous exchange in which Wizkid allegedly insulted his parents and questioned the authenticity of his jewellery.
Skales claimed that his former girlfriend was the person who used his social media account to respond to Wizkid during that period.
“When he was insulting my mom and dad and saying I wore fake jewelry on Twitter, it was my ex-girlfriend who used my account to reply him,” he explained.
Despite the public tension, Skales said he has made several efforts to repair the relationship and put their differences behind them.
He also recalled an occasion when Wizkid was expected to appear in the music video for his song Mukulu but ultimately did not show up.
According to Skales, Wizkid informed him that a flat tyre had prevented him from attending the shoot.
“He was supposed to be in my ‘Mukulu’ video, but he told me he had a flat tire and couldn’t make it,” the singer said.
Skales did not provide further details about when the reconciliation attempts took place or whether Wizkid responded to them.
His latest comments offer another account of the history between two Nigerian music stars whose disagreement has remained a subject of interest among Afrobeats fans.
While Skales says he has tried to make peace, it remains unclear whether the two have reached an understanding privately.
