Veteran Ugandan musician Halima Namakula had some unusually direct advice for women complaining about their struggles to find suitable husbands: embrace what God gave you and make the most of it.
Namakula shared the message while speaking to women at Bad Black’s Beauty Beyond The Scars event, where she encouraged them to stop focusing on physical features they may feel they lack and instead confidently use the attributes they do have.
According to the veteran singer, every woman was created differently, with individual features that can include beauty, curves, cleavage, eyes and other physical attributes.
Her advice was anything but subtle.
“If God gave you cleavage, push it forward, and if He gave you buttocks, show them. If He gave you the eyes, use them to see and let people admire them,” Namakula said.

She then tied her message to the question of women who say they have struggled to find husbands.
“With that, how do you claim that you’ve failed to find husbands? Use the things you have,” she added.
Namakula also used herself as an example, saying she has learned to appreciate the body she was given rather than comparing herself with other women.
“Personally, God created me with small-small portions on my body, but I’ve totally and fully utilised those things,” she said.
The comments came during an event centered on beauty and the personal journeys of women, giving Namakula an opportunity to frame self-confidence as something that starts with appreciating one’s own attributes.
Rather than encouraging women to imitate someone else’s appearance, her message was essentially to work with what they already have — and own it.
Namakula’s candid delivery is likely to make the advice one of the more memorable moments from the Beauty Beyond The Scars gathering, particularly because she delivered her message in characteristically straightforward fashion.
