Ugandan rapper Navio—born Daniel Lubwama Kigozi—has opened up about a missed opportunity to collaborate with Nigerian superstar Wizkid, a story that has long fueled rumors in the music industry.

For years, fans speculated that Navio was meant to feature on Wizkid’s track, but the collaboration never materialized. In a recent interview with Galaxy TV, the rapper cleared the air and shared the behind-the-scenes events that led to the missed chance.

Navio explained that he was hanging out with Wizkid, vibing to some music, when he got a call from Producer Washington. He quickly set up his studio equipment, expecting to record alongside the star.

However, Radio and Weasel—Washington’s music partners—arrived and recorded a series of songs with Wizkid, including the hit ‘Don’t Cry’, while Navio waited for his turn.

“The one that was supposed to be mine came afterwards. The ‘Slow Down’ song was supposed to be Wizkid and me, but I do not know what happened. I was told they couldn’t find the files,” Navio explained.

No Hard Feelings Toward Wizkid

Despite missing out on the track, Navio emphasized that he holds no grudges against Wizkid. In fact, they remain on good terms and have plans to perform on the same stage this year.

“It is all good. For the two times he has come, he still salutes me and shows me respect. On the show, we handled contracts of him coming in. You can win either on the front or back line,” Navio said.
