Eddy Kenzo has finally addressed the swirling rumors suggesting tension between him and Bebe Cool over NRM campaign performance lineups.

Over the past few days, social media was ablaze with claims that Kenzo and Bebe Cool clashed over which artists performed at key NRM campaign events. Some speculated that Kenzo was allegedly blocking central or national artists from frequent performances, favoring regional performers instead — a move rumored to upset Bebe Cool, who manages artist coordination and payments.

Speaking to fans and the press, Kenzo dismissed the rumors, insisting his intentions were never personal or competitive, but rather aimed at fairness and inclusivity.

“Imagine a picture where artists from Buganda perform five times, while those from the North perform twenty times. Would that be fair?” he said.

Kenzo explained that his goal was to ensure regional artists across Uganda get the chance to shine in front of their local audiences, rather than letting performers from central regions dominate every gig.

“What I wanted was for artists in those regions to also get the chance to perform. We from Buganda could just go there as surplus,” he added.

Promoting Unity and Artist Empowerment

Beyond fairness, Kenzo emphasized that giving upcountry artists opportunities does more than spread the wealth — it builds confidence, nurtures talent, and strengthens Uganda’s music industry.

“When artists perform for their communities, it promotes unity and inspires everyone. Music is bigger than any one person,” Kenzo said.

No Rivalry, Just Vision

Kenzo reassured fans that there is no feud with Bebe Cool, noting that collaboration and mentorship are key to sustaining Uganda’s music ecosystem.

“The rumors are exaggerated. Bebe Cool and I are focused on uplifting artists, not fighting. Music is about community, not competition,” he said.

As rumors continue to circulate online, Kenzo’s statement makes it clear: fairness, inclusivity, and regional representation are at the heart of his approach to music events. For fans and industry insiders, the takeaway is simple — Uganda’s music scene thrives when everyone gets a chance to perform.
