Ugandan singer Aroma has finally spoken out following a social media storm that erupted after a wardrobe malfunction during her live performance at the Brave Girls Festival over the weekend.

The “Yoola” hitmaker — celebrated for her bold fashion choices and high-energy stage presence — had fans on their feet during her October 11th set at Kati Kati Grounds, performing all her crowd-favorite hits. However, what was meant to be a triumphant night of music and girl power quickly took an unexpected turn when a revealing moment caught on camera went viral online.

🎤 The Performance That Set Social Media Ablaze

Midway through her performance, a clip surfaced showing Aroma’s short shorts splitting open, exposing more than intended. Within hours, the video spread across TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram — with critics and fans flooding her mentions.

Some social media users accused the former Team No Sleep (TNS) artist of deliberately dressing provocatively, while others defended her, arguing the malfunction was an accident that should not overshadow her talent.

💬 Aroma Fires Back at Critics

Instead of shying away, Aroma took to TikTok to address the controversy head-on. In a post dripping with sarcasm, she fired back at those tagging her in the viral clip, writing:

“I see y’all tagging me in that one video, but kilabika temulina maaso. Anyway, regardless, we move.”

The Luganda phrase loosely translates to “It seems you people have no shame.” Her unapologetic tone struck a chord with supporters who praised her confidence amid public scrutiny.

While many netizens had speculated that she wasn’t wearing any underwear during the incident, Aroma subtly brushed off those rumors — refusing to dignify the speculation with a direct response.

⚡ Fans Rally Behind Aroma

Despite the backlash, the singer’s loyal fan base has rallied around her, flooding her comment sections with messages of love and encouragement. “Wardrobe malfunctions happen to even the biggest stars,” one fan commented. “Keep shining, queen!”

Several female artists and influencers also came to her defense, calling out the double standards women face in the entertainment industry. “If a man’s pants ripped on stage, we’d all laugh it off — but for women, it becomes a scandal,” said one social media user.

🎶 From Scandal to Strength

Known for hits like “Tokisusa” and “Akayimba”, Aroma has steadily built a name as one of Uganda’s most exciting female performers — blending Afrobeat, dancehall, and street-style confidence into every show.

Industry insiders say this viral moment could ironically boost her visibility, as social media engagement surges around her name. “Aroma is a performer first,” one local promoter told The Pop Radar. “She knows how to turn a setback into a moment.”

👑 What’s Next for Aroma?

While she hasn’t revealed if she plans to address the incident in future interviews or music, fans are already calling for her to drop a track inspired by the experience — something cheeky and empowering in true Aroma fashion.

For now, she’s keeping her head high and her energy unshaken. As she put it best: “Regardless, we move.”
