Aloysious Matovu Joy Injured in Terrifying Boda Boda Crash

Ugandan actor, writer, and HIV activist Aloysious Matovu Joy is recovering after a terrifying boda boda accident along Jinja Road in the Industrial Area. The incident left him and his colleague injured but grateful to have survived.

In a video circulating on social media, Matovu is seen lying on a bed, speaking to his caretakers while sharing his experience with fans and the public.

“I was in a terrible state, but God came through. I hit my kneecap and my hand. My rider is in stitches,” he said.

The Accident That Stopped a Funeral Journey

Matovu explained to Spark TV that he was on his way to bury a former student from Makerere University, riding on a boda boda with a colleague as the rider. The accident occurred when a careless driver carrying a heavy load suddenly collided with them.

“People came and started blaming him and questioning why he would be careless with an important figure like me,” Matovu recounted, highlighting the shock and danger of the crash.

Due to the injuries sustained, the duo was unable to attend the burial and instead rushed to a nearby health facility for first aid treatment.
