Ava Peace has put a clock on her marriage plans.
The Ugandan singer has revealed that she has given herself three years to get married, saying she is curious to experience marriage for herself and the respect and prestige she believes come with it.
Ava admitted that marriage has always intrigued her, particularly because of the mixed messages she hears from married people. While many describe marriage as difficult, she noted that they still remain in their relationships and often encourage others not to give up on the institution.
“Everyone we ask why they’re married say it’s not easy, but they don’t leave. I also want to go and find out why they never leave even when they’re suffering like they portray,” she said.
Despite hearing about the challenges that come with marriage, Ava said she is not scared of taking the step.
Instead, she said she is looking forward to the respect and prestige she associates with being married.
“I love the respect that comes with marriage,” she said.
Her desire to settle down is also influenced by her upbringing. Ava explained that she grew up in a home where her parents were married and raised her and her siblings together.
“My family is also pestering me to get hitched and I want it too,” she said.
When it comes to choosing a husband, however, Ava said looks will not be the deciding factor.
The singer said she wants a man she connects with, someone who understands her career and fears God. Mutual respect is also important to her, particularly when it comes to her ambitions in music.
Ava made it clear that marriage should not mean giving up the career she has built.
“If you find me in the music industry, you shouldn’t remove me from it, and we should both respect each other,” she said.
For Ava Peace, the three-year timeline is not simply about finding a husband. It is also about finding a relationship where marriage and her music career can exist side by side — with respect at the center.
