Ugandan stand-up comedian Simon Katongole, popularly known by his stage name Bobi Brown, has announced plans to officially celebrate his wife, Nantongo Joan, with a traditional marriage ceremony later this month — a heartfelt thank-you for her unwavering love and support through one of the most difficult seasons of his life.

The much-anticipated ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 29, 2025, in Nkokonjeru, Mukono, where family, friends, and fellow entertainers are expected to gather for what promises to be an emotional and joyous celebration.

A Love That Withstood the Storm

Bobi Brown’s decision comes after his full recovery from a serious illness that once threatened both his health and career. During his challenging journey, Joan remained his constant companion — caring for him, managing the home, and offering emotional strength when things seemed uncertain.

Now back on his feet and performing again, the comedian says it’s only right that he dedicates this next chapter of his life to the woman who refused to give up on him.

“I want to thank the mother of my children, Nantongo Joan — also known as Joan Brown,” he said. “On November 29th, we’ll hold our traditional ceremony in Nkokonjeru to celebrate love, family, and everything we’ve overcome.”

A Celebration of Gratitude and New Beginnings

Beyond love, Bobi Brown says the upcoming ceremony is also a celebration of gratitude — for life, good health, and the people who stood by him during his recovery.

He expressed special appreciation to Mama Fiina, a well-known philanthropist and traditional healer, for her role in supporting his healing journey and ensuring that he regained the strength to return to the stage.

“Mama Fiina and many others stood by me when things were tough,” he said. “I thank God for giving me another chance to live, perform, and celebrate the people who matter most.”
