Musician Elijah Kitaka, real name Elijah Nsubuga Kitaka, has once again made headlines — not for his music, but for his fearless fashion choices. Known for turning heads with his daring outfits, Kitaka says he’s unbothered by public opinion, focusing instead on self-expression.

“I do not care if people do not like my dressing. That is their business as long as I like it,” he revealed. “Along the way, we’ve lost touch with friends. One thing I have learnt is to be alone. You alone know how you are surviving and what you are going through.”

A Style That Breaks All Rules

Elijah’s signature fashion is bold, boundary-pushing, and unapologetically unique. From short shorts and colorful outfits to multiple facial piercings, his style challenges traditional norms and often sparks debate on social media.

“I reached a point where I didn’t care what people thought about me. I do what makes me happy,” he added, emphasizing that his style is self-expression, not attention-seeking.

Despite the online backlash, Kitaka believes his daring moves have influenced current fashion trends, turning some of his once-criticized choices into mainstream statements.

Championing Freedom and Fashion Trends

Kitaka credits himself with helping normalize trends that were once considered unconventional.

“Maybe if I hadn’t torn my clothes, people wouldn’t have loved fashion. If I hadn’t put on the short shorts, perhaps they would not have put them on either. It is moving with the business. It is okay to trend as long as it is not negative. People started putting them on because it was a trend,” he explained.

His philosophy is simple: fashion is freedom, and expressing yourself through clothing should not be dictated by critics or social media haters.

The Craft Behind the Look

Elijah also gave a shout-out to his friend Emmanuel, who collaborates with him to craft outfits tailored to his mood and occasions. Every ensemble is intentional, reflecting not just style but identity, mood, and artistry.

“I dress according to the mood and occasion of where I am going,” Kitaka said.

Elijah Kitaka: Bold, Unapologetic, and Influential

From pushing fashion boundaries to sparking conversations online, Kitaka’s approach is a lesson in confidence, individuality, and authenticity. While some misinterpret his looks, he remains firm in his belief that self-expression is more important than public approval.
